Bellerive-sur-Allier sits on the left bank of the River Allier, in the Auvergne region of central France. Close to the famous spa town of Vichy, Bellerive-sur-Allier manages to retain its own identity, and is a popular location for those whose interests tend towards the sporting, as the town has excellent sports facilities close at hand. Set in a lovely landscape of green meadows and peaceful lakes, Bellerive-sur-Allier offers most facilities and is only ten minutes from all the amenities of the main town of Vichy.

Exploring the Allier and the Auvergne from Bellerive-sur-Allier is no problem. The town lies in the south of the department, and thus is not far from the arts town of Riom, which makes a very pleasant destination for those seeking a change from thermal spas! The Auvergne is also known for its chateaux and it is definitely worth a trip to see Bost Castle, a fifteenth century castle only a couple of kilometres from the town. Lovers of mediaeval history will also enjoy the beautiful mediaeval town of Le Crozet, which has old winding streets and half-timbered houses, exuding a real feeling of days gone by.

How to get there
If you wish to get to Bellerive-sur-Allier by air, you can choose to fly to Lyon, Tours or Limoges. Ryanair flies to both Tours and Limoges, the latter also being served by flybe. Lyon is served by Air France, British Airways, bmibaby, easyJet and bmi. Travelling by train is a good option, as there is a train station in the town. If you are driving, you will find Bellerive-sur-Allier off the A712 motorway.
