What to see in Gueugnon
Gueugnon has a long history and there are plenty of interesting sites to visit and enjoy. The town has a beautiful bridge of interesting construction over the River Arroux, and this was of great importance when it was built as previously the river at this point could only be crossed by a ford, which was not always accessible. Of the town's chateaux there are two remaining today, one of which is currently lived in by an old noble family. Gueugnon also offers archaeological sites, museums, parks and gardens and a heritage trail. Cultural events are held at various points in the calendar, and are always worth attending.

Not so well known to tourists, the area offers a chance to enjoy a part of France that is known best to the French, who understand the value of a culturally rich and naturally beautiful area, even though it may not be close to the sea, or have access to ski resorts or the other most obvious attractions.

The finer things in life and modern pleasures too

Of course, there are many more modern pleasures to be found here too, and you will have no difficulty accessing good golf courses, swimming facilities, tennis courts, horse-riding and wonderful walking trails.
