On the rise
The medieval town of Ambazac, located a short distance from the regional capital of Limoges at the foot of a mountain of the same name, has a population of just 5000. It is visited, each year, by the Tour de France as well as an increasing number of foreign visitors.

Step into history
The picturesque market town revolves around its charming 13th Century Church. Inside you’ll find two of the region’s most beautiful and precious relics, both dating from the 12th Century. One is a case that has been lavishly decorated with precious stones and intricately designed with enamel and copper and the other is a large garment made from silk and gold. And just ten kilometres north you'll find one of France’s most important medieval sites, the Abbey of Grandmort.

Keeping healthy
There is plenty to keep you occupied during your stay. The serene, rolling countryside will impress anyone who enjoys spending time in the outdoors. If you’re looking for more modern ways of keeping active then there’s a large leisure centre, a golf course, tennis and squash courts and two riding schools in the area. Nearby Place de Jonas, which has its own beach, is the most popular place to take a dip.

A sociable centre
Despite being very small, Ambazac itself is packed with things to do. There is a very good restaurant as well as a number of bars and shops. In the mornings you can smell the fresh baguettes coming from its several bakeries. There is also one very good museum about minerals.

How to get there
Travelling to and from the town is no problem. Nearby Limoges has both an airport and a TGV station. There are regular direct flights from the UK.

What are the property prices like?
The property prices tend to be extremely good value for money, as we’ve come to expect from the Limousin region. At the time of writing we have a hotel with 800 square metres of living space on 9.5 acres of land for €230,000.
