Doué la Fontaine - capital of roses
The elegant little town of Doué la Fontaine, which is found lying in the chateaux country of inland western France in the Maine-et-Loire department of the Pays de la Loire region, is famous as the home of the rose. There is also a renowned zoo at Doué, and with the city of Saumur just a short drive away it is safe to say that you will never be stuck for something to do around Doué la Fontaine!

How to get there
If you want to fly from the UK, you can choose to fly into Tours, Nantes or Angers. Tours is served by Ryanair, Nantes by Ryanair and Aer Arann, and Angers by Eastern Airways. The train is also possible, as you can take Eurostar to Paris then link to a TGV for Saumur.
