Théoule sur Mer – a captivating town
Théoule sur Mer is a captivating town that occupies a delightful position on the coast of the French Riviera. It really could be described as the town with everything, for it is blessed with an interesting history, glorious azure seas, dramatic cliffs and rocky inlets, a colourful marina, lovely countryside and the best weather in France. Small wonder, then, that owning a property here is high on a number of people's wish lists!

To see the sea
The sea is very much a part of life in Théoule sur Mer, and indeed the sea has been the source of the town's prosperity both in times past, when it was essentially a fishing town, and nowadays when tourism is the mainstay of the economy. The sea here is a rich turquoise colour, and dotted with distinctive red rock formations which give an unusual aspect to the views.

Historic town with marina and chateau
There is a colourful and lively marina here too, and everywhere you look there are exotic palm trees and majestic parasol pines. There's more to see than just the views from the waterfront, though, as this is an historic town as well as a resort. The rather splendid chateau was once a soap factory, and makes an interesting visit.

Shopping, wining and dining in uptown Théoule sur Mer
It's an uptown area, there can be no doubt about that. There are numerous excellent and stylish restaurants, and plenty of bars too. Shops are also plentiful, and there is little that you cannot buy here. Théoule has a market as well, if you like to do your shopping in a traditional manner. For all this, though, Théoule remains one of the more unspoiled and peaceful of the Riviera destinations, ideal for those who want to enjoy the beauty and sunshine without the hype of the better known resorts such as Cannes. Of course, for those days when you do want the buzz of the major towns and cities, they are all near to hand.

Out and about
Théoule offers just about any sporting activity that you can name, with sea sports including scuba diving, sailing, jet skiing, water skiing and sea fishing. If you prefer to stay on dry land then you may be pleased to know that there are over twenty excellent golf courses in the area, horse-riding stables, cycle hire shops and fantastic trails for walking in and around the beautiful hills and forests of Provence. Of course, there are also tennis courts, children's play grounds, swimming pools and much, much more to keep you active in and around Théoule.

How to get there
If you want to travel by air, you can fly to Nice with bmibaby, British Airways, easyJet, bmi, Jet2, flybe, Air France or Aer Lingus. If you prefer train travel you could take Eurostar to Paris and then jump onto a super fast TGV and arrive in Nice only a few relaxing hours later. Drivers, look for the A8 auto route, as the town is easily found if you head for the coast from this road.

Property prices and availability in and around Théoule sur Mer
The Riviera is never cheap, so it is no good expecting to get a mansion for pennies here. There are many beautiful properties here, though, and it is certainly one of the best locations in France. The most affordable properties tend to be in the modern apartment blocks that are ideal for lock up and leave holiday use.
