Figanières - sooo Provençal!
The village of Figanières lies in the south-east of France, in the hills about half an hour inland from the Med, in the department of the Var. It is everything that you would hope to find in a Provençal hill village. The sun burns down onto the little houses in their sunshine colours of terracotta and creamy yellows, and the narrow streets wind their way through pretty squares to the church that dominates the village from its lofty position in the Place Saint Michel. The scenery around the village is spectacular too, with forests to the north and vineyards and olive groves to the south.

Figanières's fountains and flowers
Figanières keeps itself as pretty as it has always been, and although tourism is important to the economy it has not been allowed to spoil its essential character and tranquillity. There are numerous pretty squares, many decorated with cooling fountains sparkling in the sunshine, and one of these is said to be the fountain of youth! Figanières is always colourful too. There are colourful window boxes and hanging baskets bearing witness to the villagers' love of flowers. Visit the lovely walled gardens of the Jardin des Senteurs, which is not only beautiful and interesting but also aptly named as it is filled with aromatic plants that fill the air with their heady scents.

All needs catered for...
