Le Luc - a Provençal jewel
The town of Le Luc lies in the delightful area of Provence, legendary land of sunshine, olives, wine and lavender. The Var is a region that offers both sophisticated gourmet restaurants as well as rustic peasant fare, so take your pick and enjoy the superb flavours and textures offered by both. The region is renowned for its olives, its wines, and its sunny Mediterranean fruits and vegetables. What could be better? There are lots of bars and restaurants in Le Luc itself, so where you fancy a traditional Provençal experience or a simple wood-fired oven cooked pizza, there will be something on hand to please you.

Le Luc is known for its motor racing circuit, so this is an option that is likely to please the adventurous members of the family as it is possible to book a lesson with the experts and see if you are a budding Lewis Hamilton! The Var is a wonderful region and you will be drawn to many places if you wish to make the most of your time in Provence. There is the Mediterranean Sea, of course, the great capital city of the south, Marseille, the lovely old town of Aix en Provence... and many, many more places that you will want to visit and explore. There are plenty of railway stations around, but a car is a pretty essential tool if you don't want to miss out on the smaller villages and much of the countryside.

How to get there
To reach Le Luc you can fly to Marseille, Nice or Toulon. Marseille is served by British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair and Aer Lingus; Nice by bmibaby, British Airways, easyJet, bmi, Jet2, flybe, Air France and Aer Lingus; and Toulon by Ryanair. The TGV runs to Aix en Provence or Les Arcs-Draguignan, or drive to the town from the A8 auto route. Le Luc is sign posted from there.

Property prices and availability in and around Le Luc
Provence, and perhaps especially the department of the Var, with its stretch of glorious Mediterranean coastline, is one of the most expensive regions of France for property buying... but it does have its advantages too. Rentals should remain easy to let and provide a good level of income, which can be useful when you are not using the property yourself. Properties available range from modern apartments (ideal to lock up and leave if you are not going to live there full-time), to old village houses or country farms and wine growers houses in the surrounding countryside.
