At the foot of the Alps
Bonneville, a town in eastern France, lies at the foot of the beautiful Alps. When you are in Bonneville you will never have any doubt that you are in an Alpine town. From the stunning shapes of the mountains in the distance (dark green in summer, shimmering ice white in winter), to the distinctive architecture of the houses in the town. Together with the delicious Savoyard cuisine and even the very air that you breathe, everything adds up to a very Alpine town.

Families are especially welcomed, and the emphasis which the town puts on education makes it a great place to bring up a young family. Cultural opportunities
There are cultural opportunities too, with museums and art exhibitions and galleries open all year round. Bonneville lies on the River Arve, and this adds a very pretty touch to the centre of the town, where the river flows under the arches of the bridges which span its width.

A sporting dream town
Bonneville is, without doubt, a paradise for the sportsman. In summer, the mountains provide a wonderful adventure playground for the brave and energetic, with climbing, hiking, canyoning and many other mountain sports available. In fact Bonneville is situated in an area which has access to some of the best skiing in Europe. There are also beautiful, clean fresh water lakes which offer safe bathing, fishing and sailing in summer.

Property prices and availability in and around Bonneville
Property in the French Alps generally comes at a premium price, but Bonneville is less expensive than many other towns a little higher up the slopes. Because Bonneville is in such a great location, a rental income from your property is always a possibility, allowing you to offset the initial buying costs if you don't plan to live there all year round. Those of you who are considering running a bed and breakfast venture may find that Bonneville is a good location. The town has some large and elegant properties which would lend themselves well to this type of enterprise.
