A long tall stone
Brittany is notable for its fascinating menhirs, or standing stones, and there is a superb example of these at Plémy, on the D32 road that leads from Plémy to the neighbouring village of Le Dreny. The rock is known as La Roche Longue, due to the fact that it is some four metres high. These stones are thought by some to have pagan origins, but it is considered more likely that they are actually connected to past farming practices in this very agricultural area.
