A land of lakes…
Éguzon-Chantôme (or Eguzon Chantome) is located in the very heart of France, in a land of lakes and chateaux, and if this is what you are hoping to find in your search for a perfect French location then Éguzon-Chantôme will not disappoint. Lake Eguzon is one of the best in the country, with its beautiful setting and dramatic dam, and although in high summer the lake is a hive of frenetic activity amongst sporting enthusiasts, there is still a sense of tranquillity in the little town.

An unspoiled town
Éguzon-Chantôme is a traditional Loire Valley village, unspoiled and peaceful with its pretty stone houses and quiet streets. It is a small place, but it offers all the facilities necessary for day to day living, with banks, shops, supermarkets and schools. For entertainment there are a good selection of bars and restaurants, and dining out here is everything you could hope for from a French eating experience! For the young at heart there is even a nightclub in which to dance the night away.

Lake Eguzon
Once you have spent a day by the lovely Lake Eguzon you will want to return again and again. Perfect for family entertainment, there are qualified lifeguards on duty in high summer, and the beautiful sandy beaches are as good if not better than anything you will find at the seaside! All manner of water sports are available, with windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, swimming, fishing and water skiing popular. Tuition is available in many of these too, so this is the ideal chance to try your hand at something new! Meanwhile the shores of the lake and the surrounding tracks are wonderful for walkers, and the countryside near here is superb for horse-riding too, as the many equestrian centres in the vicinity will testify. Ornithologists can also spend weeks enjoying and identifying the varieties of birds which abound around the lake.

How to get there
It is quite easy and inexpensive to reach Éguzon-Chantôme from the UK. Budget airline Ryanair has flights to Limoges airport, which is only around 45 minutes drive away from the town. Travelling by road from Calais will take you around six hours, whilst the drive from Paris is around three hours.

Property prices and availability in and around Éguzon-Chantôme
Property around Éguzon-Chantôme can represent excellent value for money. The village is far enough away from Paris to keep prices low yet close enough to make travel to and from the capital a possibility. There are different types of property available here, but the traditional stone houses of the region are attractive and plentiful.
