Lecci - an idyllic base on the Corsican coast

Lecci is a tranquil village set just north of the favoured holiday spot of Porte Vecchio in South Corsica. Lecci makes an idyllic base for holidays, as it has access to San Ciprianu Bay, claimed to be the most beautiful bay on the island. The village is surrounded by vineyards, and produces some of Corsica's most respected wines.

Lecci shares facilities with Porto Vecchio

Lecci is an attractive and peaceful village, suited to those who want access to the main tourist attractions but prefer to return to a quieter location as a base. As the village lies very close to Porto Vecchio, it is considered as a suburb of the town and shares facilities like schools, health care, shops and services. This wider community of Porto Vecchio and Lecci offers everything you need, be it for blissful holidays or a permanent lifestyle. The restaurants are plentiful and excellent, with seafood featuring heavily on the menus. Local wines, from the vineyards close to Lecci, are also very good.

Enjoy water sports at San Ciprianu Bay

Lecci's beaches are said to be among the most stunning on the whole island, and it is hard to argue. San Ciprianu Bay is a glorious sweep of sparkling, azure waters and golden sands, backed by the deep green of the vineyards. Water sports are big business here. You can sail, jet ski, water ski and scuba dive.

Explore vibrant Porto Vecchio and ancient Bonifacio

Porto Vecchio is an ever popular destination, and it lies just to the south of Lecci. There is a ferry port here which brings in the people arriving from the mainland of France, and there is always a vibrant atmosphere in the town. Bonifacio is another acclaimed town within easy reach of Lecci, and one that must be visited. Here, the ancient town, packed with heritage architecture and monuments, clings to a high, limestone cliff above a dizzying plunge to the deep blue sea below.
