Le Boulou – a Catalan spa town

Le Boulou is a little spa town that lies in the foothills of the Pyrénéan Mountains in southern France. Catalan in character (and proud of it!), Le Boulou is a popular destination for those hoping to benefit from its thermal and mineral waters, as well as its beautiful location.

Water water everywhere...

... and plenty to drink too! Le Boulou is renowned for its natural thermal mineral waters, and in its state of the art thermal centre you can enjoy the last word in luxury. The centre has top of the range equipment, staff and two superb restaurants, so if ever you feel you need a little pampering, Le Boulou is the place to be!

A taste of Spain

All amenities

Le Boulou offers all the necessary amenities within its boundaries, being perhaps unusually well equipped for such a small town. Like most French spa towns, Le Boulou even has a casino, and this is a very popular place with the holiday makers and visitors who flock to Le Boulou in the summer months. The town has plenty of shops too, but of course, if you want to have a big city shopping day you can easily get to the prefecture of Perpignan, or even the wonderful Catalan city of Barcelona.

Out and about

There is so much to do and see in this part of southern France and across the border into north-east Spain, that you will never be at a loss for something to do. The lovely climate enjoyed here lends itself to many outdoors activities. You can try your hand at all manner of sports such as pony trekking, golf and mountain biking. Or you can hire a motorcycle, have a go at scuba diving in the nearby Med, or ski in the Pyrénées in winter.

How to get there

Perpignan is the nearest airport, and has flights from the UK with Ryanair, bmibaby and flybe. Girona and Carcassonne are also nearby, both being served by Ryanair. The TGV runs to Perpignan from Paris (where you can change from Eurostar), so this is another easy and fast option available to you, as Perpignan is not far from Le Boulou.
