For buying and selling property in Pujaudran
Pujaudran is a pleasant little village that is located in the Gers department of the region once known as Gascony, in south-west France. It is, perhaps, unremarkable in terms of historic monuments and major tourist attractions, yet it is attractive and welcoming, and set in the classic countryside of the Gers, where fields of golden sunflowers illuminate the landscapes in July, and where the rolling hills retain their green lushness even through the scorching sun of the summer months.
This unassuming little village has a secret, however. Pujaudran may be small, may not have a huge range of shops and hypermarkets, theatres or grand buildings... but it does have a nationally acclaimed restaurant. The Puits St Jacques restaurant is said to be one of the best in the south, and certainly people will travel from far away to enjoy the rich treats in store here. Offering menus themed under such titles as "Market day", "The truffles menu" and "Menu of the season", the very best of the superb gastronomy of the region is served up with a flourish and in delightful surroundings. One word of advice though, you do need to reserve a table!
Pujaudran has a few basic shops and services, such as a pharmacy, boulangerie, patisserie, but if you need to access larger shops and supermarkets you can always get to towns such as L'Isle Jourdain, or even the great city of Toulouse, which is within very easy reach. There are various businesses registered in the village, so you should be able to find good local builders, plumbers and other trades people.
Pujaudran lies in a region where the weather is usually good, the terrain accessible and the people enthusiastic, so expect to be able to find plenty of activities to take part in locally. There are possibilities for horse-riding, cycling, walking, tennis, swimming, fishing and even golf.
Toulouse airport makes it easy to get close to Pujaudran, as although Toulouse is actually located in the Haute Garonne (31), and Pujaudran in the Gers (32), the village of Pujaudran is situated so close to the border of the Haute-Garonne department that the distance is minimal. You can fly with British Airways, bmi, Jet2, flybe and easyJet. Those who prefer to travel by rail will also be happy as there is a station at Toulouse where you can alight from the fast TGV. It is then easy to catch a local train onto Léguevin, and from there continue by road to Pujaudran. Drivers will find Pujaudran from the N124.
The Gers is generally reasonably priced when it comes to property, and there are often chances to purchase beautiful farms and large houses in the countryside. Prices around Pujaudran can be a little higher than those of places that lie deeper into the Gers, however, as the proximity to Toulouse keeps values up.
