L'Isle en Dodon – a mediaeval market town
The little town of L'Isle en Dodon that is found in the south-west of France, about an hour's drive from Toulouse, is a lovely characterful place that retains many original features and buildings. The town lies in the beautiful rolling countryside that is so typical of the region, and benefits from its position on the River Save, which provides not only an added beauty to the town, but also is excellent for fishing and boating.

Saturday market
The town shrugs off its sleepy air every Saturday morning when the market comes to town with a vibrant life of its own. Said to be one of the best markets in the area, L'Isle en Dodon's market is a great place to browse, to chat, and to buy local specialities such as tasty cepes (mushrooms) or the luxurious treat of Foie Gras.

Choose from tennis, swimming, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, petanque or boules... or travel a very short distance to access golf, horse-riding and some wonderful walking and cycling trails. The mountains of the Pyrénées are only about an hour and half away too, so you can go skiing in the winter.
