Rouillac - a market town with a past
The little market town of Rouillac, which is found in the west of France, in south of the region known as Poitou-Charentes, is a town with plenty of memories of days long gone. Rouillac has retained both a church and an amphitheatre from its Gallo Roman past, and these add to the richness of atmosphere and character that make it well worth visiting.

Rouillac's amenities

Rouillac has exceptional markets
Rouillac is known for its exceptional markets. Not only are there two markets held per week in the town, but also, on the 27th of every month, there is a really massive market held, and this attracts people from miles around to come to Rouillac to both buy and sell. There is a large livestock section at this market too, so you can get a real sense of what French markets were like centuries ago when animals such as horses and cows were traded at the local markets.

Leisures and pleasures in Rouillac
There's lots going on in this little town, so don't be deceived by its rural aspect. The cultural programme includes such events as theatre productions and arts festivals, and for the sportily inclined there are loads of activities. Choose from tennis, swimming in the large municipal pool, fishing, horse-riding, cycling and walking. Then of course, you could always take a guided tour around some of the most famous Cognac houses and sample their wares.

Property prices and availability in and around Rouillac
Property in Rouillac represents really good value for money. At the time of writing it compares very well with similar properties in the rest of the Poitou-Charentes region. Properties are selling steadily and at a gradually increasing price, but the area has not yet reached the same level of popularity as near neighbour Dordogne, for example, meaning that it is still possible to purchase property at a bargain price... if you are quick!
