Now there is no pretending that Moux en Morvan, with its population of just over 700, is a large town. It does, however, offer some good basic amenities, with a doctor, a pharmacy and a selection of small shops on hand to save you having to drive every day. When you do need a supermarket, however, it's good to know that the larger town of Autun is just fifteen minutes drive away.

Walk or ride in the cool forests that cover the landscape near Clamecy, the logging town, and take advantage of the many sports on offer around and about in this fine region. There are golf courses and riding centres and opportunities to go fishing, windsurfing and sailing, as well as many more great activities, mostly inspired by the glorious natural advantages of the countryside.
