Evaux les Bains is a very attractive spa town which dates back to Roman times. It is found in the glorious, wooded countryside of the Creuse department of the Limousin, a land that's studded with lakes and crossed by sparkling rivers. Evaux les Bains is a mini treasure trove of history, but it is also a great place to spend a modern holiday as it offers good facilities for both leisure and everyday needs.
Anyone who loves France and likes to relax and treat themselves on holiday will enjoy the pretty spa town of Evaux les Bains. For a start, everything you need is on hand with a selection of small shops within the town. Then, for an extra treat, there is the thermal centre which offers a number of luxurious health boosting treatments. And, if this were not enough, you can spend evenings testing your luck at the casino, or out for a delicious meal in a local restaurant.
If you enjoy tracing history, you'll find plenty to entertain you in Evaux les Bains. Access: By air: Fly to Limoges or Clermont Ferrand. By rail: The TGV fast service runs to Limoges. By road: The town is found on the D19/D996, near the N145 non toll motorway.
Economy: The town's economy is partly based on its spa status. Small commerce is present.
Interesting fact: In addition to its history, heritage and spa, Evaux les Bains has a casino, as is usual in French spa towns.
