Following the trails here will afford you the opportunity to see wild deer, and some very rare birds of prey.

Gentler pleasures include cycling, walking and fishing, and there is plenty to do in any season.

How to get there

The nearest airport is located at Geneva, just over the border into Switzerland. You can fly to Geneva with British Airways, Aer Lingus, easyJet, flybe or Jet2. Alternatively, Chambery has flights with flybe and Jet2. Rail travel will take you to Paris or Lille on Eurostar, then to either Lyon or Bourg St Maurice by TGV.
