Part of the Meribel Les Allues commune of thirteen villages, it's got good access to the slopes thanks to a ski lift in the village itself. Les Allues also offers the charm and atmosphere of a traditional Savoyard village.
Les Allues is a very attractive and typically Savoyard village. In fact, since 2014 it has held the coveted title of "village fleurie", or village of flowers, thanks to the attractive floral displays to be seen there in the summer. Its church, chapel and cross give it an architectural heritage, whilst its awe-inspiring setting brings a natural heritage that's hard to beat. The village, being one of the larger villages in the commune, has shops and amenities such as bars and restaurants. There's also a ski lift to get you to the slopes for some of the best skiing in Europe.
Les Allues, whilst being thought of as a ski village, is also a perfect base for summer holidays. Summer mountain tourism is growing in popularity, and Les Allues is well placed for this. The beautiful natural park of Vanoise offers unrivalled scenery for walking, pony trekking and more. Getting out and about to discover more of the area is also highly recommended. The Art and History town of Albertville is worth a visit, as is the scenic village of La Grave, or the "most beautiful" classified village of Bonneville.
You have a good choice of airports in Chambéry, Geneva and Grenoble for those who wish to fly. Should you prefer train travel, trains run into Bourg St Maurice and Moutiers. Finally, for those wanting to drive, the village lies on the D90, the nearest major road being the N90.
