Bréhand is a great place to live

If you are considering a move to live in Brittany, or are looking for a holiday home there, cast a glance at Bréhand. It's a fairly unassuming little town, but it's a great place to live or stay. It's got all shops and services, yet is also part of the larger market town of Lamballe, offering many more facilities. It's also got a really lively community of residents dedicated to making their town a pleasant place to be, especially for families. Bréhand is within easy reach of all Brittany's best attractions too. And, it's easy to get to from the UK!

Heritage of Bréhand

There's quite a bit to see in Bréhand. Start with the church, which is very impressive. Built in 1890, it's well known for its rather special bells. Next, take a look at the Chapel of Saint Malo. Saint Malo Chapel is the best known, but four further chapels can be seen in Bréhand. The town also has some ancient stone crosses. After that, there are several grand buildings to discover from Bréhand's long history. Among them, there's a chateau, and two stunning manor houses.

Shopping and services found in Bréhand

The town has a good selection of small shops, and most services are accessible without leaving town. Bréhand has bakers, butchers, hairdressers and florists all at your service. There are two schools, both for younger children, and a garage to repair your car should you have any problems! Bréhand also has a super little leisure centre for very young children. A couple of bars and a restaurant complete the picture.

Lamballe offers further choice

Of course, sometimes you will need to visit supermarkets and discover a greater choice of shops, services and restaurants, and all this can be found in nearby Lamballe. Lamballe has a great weekly market too.

Activities on offer around Bréhand

Bréhand has some lovely, peaceful walks in the country that surrounds the town. And, whether you are a golfer, a cyclist, a horse-rider or tennis player, it's easy to find all of these activities near to Bréhand. The local area is also popular with fishermen.

Discover the surrounding area

Lamballe is worth a visit for more than just its shops and markets. It's a very pretty mediaeval town, and there are quite a few sights of interest. The town is also home to a fabulous Stud Farm, so horse lovers should waste no time visiting! Of course, nowhere in Brittany is far from the sea, so spending days at the coast is always recommended. Then you have to take time to explore Dinan, one of Brittany's premier attractions. It's a stunning mediaeval town with quaint old streets lined with half-timbered houses, a bustling river port and a host of craft shops and charming eateries.

How to get there

Fly to Dinard or Rennes directly from the UK. Dinard is served by Ryanair and Aurigny, and Rennes is served by Flybe. St Malo is the nearest ferry port and this is served by Brittany Ferries. Caen and Cherbourg are also not too far away. Finally, if you are travelling by car, head for the D80. The nearest major road is the N12.
