The River Rance runs beside the lovely little Breton town of Plouer sur Rance, just where it widens out into the estuary and pushes for the sea. The setting is delightful, and the town is just as charming as its surroundings. What's more, Plouer sur Rance is perfectly positioned for access to all the very best bits of the area; the mediaeval town of Dinan, the beaches and resorts of the seaside, the port town of St Malo and the glorious, unspoilt countryside.

Gastronomes will also enjoy the famous seafood. Also a seaside resort, but so much more as well is the port town of St Malo. The mediaeval town of Dinan is possibly the most popular and frequently visited place in the immediate vicinity, and this gorgeous little jewel of a town is well worth a visit. There are things there that will charm all members of the family, from the ancient ramparts to the bustling harbour, the narrow, twisting streets and half-timbered houses, redolent of days in a France long gone.
There are all of those well documented things to do, and you haven't even touched the lovely Breton countryside yet! Here, amid the green and lush grasslands, woodlands, lakes and rivers that characterise the region, you can enjoy walking, cycling, horse-riding and so much more.
