Quévert is a lively small town set in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany, in north-west France. Quévert provides comfortable living, with all shops and services on hand, and is close to major regional attractions. The mediaeval town of Dinan is just three kilometres away, and the beaches, seaside resorts and the famously unspoilt Breton countryside are also within easy reach.
Quévert has plenty of shops, with supermarkets (Carrefour and Lidl) for convenience, and smaller, "French" type shops like boulangeries and patisseries to provide a good shopping experience. The town also offers a selection of restaurants, cafés and bars for your enjoyment of the local food and drink. There's even a McDonald's to keep the kids happy.
Cider is popular in Quévert, with two cider producers in town, so don't miss the chance to try some. The cider connection is celebrated with an Apple Festival each November, which is great fun for all the family. Quévert also has a beautiful Flower Garden, known as "Le Courtil des Senteurs", where you can see more than 5,000 roses among other floral delights.
There's no shortage of activities around Quévert. You can enjoy swimming (lakes, sea and pools), golf (ten courses in the department!), horse-riding, walking, cycling and tennis.
The Côtes-d'Armor is packed with places to go. Dinan, one of Brittany's best loved towns, is close by. Within Dinan's city walls you can wander quaint, cobbled streets, find mediaeval architecture and bask in the charming ambience. The river port (Dinan is on the River Rance) is a bustling and colourful part of town, and just the place to find lively cafés and restaurants for a spot of relaxation.
Only a few kilometres further are the beaches and resorts of the coast. Cancale, for example, is the place to go for oysters, while family beach fun is always possible in Brittany. The port town of St Malo provides excellent seaside entertainment for all ages, and has an interesting historical quarter too. Other sights of interest around the area include Mont St Michel, the regional capital city of Rennes, or Combourg with its chateau.
The airport of Dinard has direct flights from the UK with Ryanair and Aurigny. Or you can travel by boat to St Malo, Caen or Cherbourg, St Malo being the closest by far. If you're driving, you'll find Quévert easily accessible, just off the N176 non toll motorway.
Prices in the area around Quévert can be higher than in other parts of northern France, but there are some good value properties currently on the market.
