La Feuillée has just over 600 inhabitants, but benefits from a strong community spirit and good local services and amenities. The village is set in the heart of the Monts d'Arrée Mountains, inland but within an easy drive of the coast and all the main attractions of the region.
La Feuillée is an old Breton village, and a strong sense of its place in history is evident throughout. The heritage includes La Commanderie, a house with connections to the Templar Knights through the order of the Hospitaliers of Saint John, a 19th century church, a mediaeval chapel, fountains, menhirs and Celtic crosses in addition to many lovely authentic old buildings.
Although small, La Feuillée is quite well equipped with local services and shops, having a bakery, butcher's shop, post office, jewellery and watchmaker's shop, hairdresser's, bank and a fishmonger's at your service. There is also a bar tabac and a restaurant within the village, and many more shops, restaurants and services nearby in the popular town of Huelgoat. La Feuillée continues Breton traditions enthusiastically, holding festivals and even hosting a Breton language school.
Brittany has long been a popular destination for overseas buyers as well as among the French, and its charms are well documented. Here, in central Brittany, you have access to all the "best bits" of the region. Outdoor sports are plentiful, and whatever your particular pleasure may be, you are sure to find it nearby. There are airports at Brest and Dinard which offer direct flights to and from the UK, or you can take the ferry crossing from England to Roscoff or St Malo. (Brest is served by Flybe and Ryanair, and Dinard by Aurigny and Ryanair.) If driving, you will find the village on the D42, which lies between the N12 and N164 national highways.
