For buying and selling property in Antrain
If you want to base your holidays in Brittany in a really picturesque location, you could barely do better than to choose Antrain. It's a small market town which is set close to the stunning tourist site of Mont St Michel, but there's much more to its attractions than just that. The little town lies on the River Couesnon, which provides a scenic backdrop. It's also set amid lovely green countryside, so tranquil, yet still very near to the beaches and resorts of the coast.
Antrain is peaceful, rural and quite small, but it's a real living village with good local amenities. In the village you'll have a choice of two boulangeries, two pharmacies and several banks. Then there's a Carrefour supermarket for that big, weekly shop, plus numerous small shops and services. The traditional street market, always a fun experience, takes place on Tuesdays. The village has a selection of bars and restaurants too, for those evenings or lunch times when you feel like a treat.
One of the really great things about Antrain is its location. Just twenty minutes from the glorious Mont St Michel, and half an hour from St Malo with its beaches, resort activities, shopping and ferry port, the village offers almost all the benefits of owning property on the coast without the expense. Dinard, with good beaches and an airport with direct flights from the UK, is also just half an hour's drive from the village. Activities in the area include golf, with two good courses within fifteen kilometres of Antrain, swimming, sand yachting, tennis, walking and horse-riding.
It couldn't be easier to get to Antrain. You can fly to Dinard or Rennes (or if you want more choice, to Nantes or Angers) or take a ferry to St Malo. If you're driving, it takes just half an hour to reach the village from the airport at Dinard or from St Malo port. The village is found on the D89, between the motorways of the N176 and the A84.
Antrain property prices are lower than those of the coastal towns, so if you'd like to be close to the sea but cash is an issue, it's really worth considering. And, if you're prepared to take on a little work, you'll find some real bargains waiting for you.
