For buying and selling property in Pleurtuit
Pleurtuit is a lively little town set very close to the port of Saint Malo and the fabulous beaches of the north Breton coast. Access from the UK is great, with a choice of travelling by the excellent Brittany Ferries to Saint Malo, or to the airport of Dinard/Pleurtuit, both of which are right on the doorstep making it an ideal weekend getaway.
With a population of 4,547, Pleurtuit is just the right size. It's a lively town with excellent amenities, yet not too busy or urbanised and still with a lovely, small town feel. Its location, within a stone's throw of Saint Malo and other seaside resorts, is perfect to attract those who want to live near the sea, yet property prices are a little lower than those right on the coast. The town has great shops, restaurants, bars and leisure facilities, and could be a good location for anyone wanting to start or buy a tourism related business such as a B&B or gîte business.
You could hardly choose a better location than Pleurtuit for accessing all the best things about Brittany and the Ille-et-Vilaine. The coastal resorts offer all the fun of the seaside, and the beaches near to the town are beautiful and perfect for family fun. The port town of Saint Malo is more than just a ferry port and offers glorious beaches and sea sports, fabulous shopping and a huge variety of restaurants and cultural venues and events. Also nearby is the town of Dinard, often overlooked yet full of charm, while just a little further away is mediaeval Dinan, one of Brittany's best loved mediaeval towns.
Out into the countryside there are endless opportunities for walking, cycling, golf, horse-riding and other outdoor pursuits. Pretty villages and traditional market towns abound, and the culturally inclined will find plenty of museums, historic sights and festivals, to enable them to absorb the history and heritage of one of France's loveliest regions.
It simply couldn't be easier to get to Pleurtuit. Right on your doorstep is the airport of Dinard/Pleurtuit, which has cheap flights with Ryanair keeping travelling costs to a minimum. But should you prefer the sea crossing to Saint Malo with Brittany Ferries, there is still virtually no travelling to do once you step off the boat.
It is surprising just how much money you can save on buying property in Brittany if you stay just a few minutes away from the sea. Pleurtuit is a case in point, as it is close enough to the coast to offer character fishermen's cottages, yet just far enough away from the sea front to keep prices at a very affordable level.
