Bréhan - a perfect holiday base

Bréhan is a thriving small town that is set in the Morbihan department of Brittany. Set close to the Nantes Brest Canal, it makes a perfect holiday base as it has easy access to all the major attractions of Brittany. And it's only just over an hour's drive to the south coast of the region, with the beautiful sheltered beaches of the Gulf of Morbihan.

Amenities in Bréhan

Bréhan is a vibrant little town that offers excellent amenities. There's a good sized Super U supermarket for all everyday needs, local shops, a pharmacy, a petrol garage and a few restaurants. Not bad for a small country town in rural France! Larger facilities can be found in the lovely mediaeval town of Josselin, just thirteen miles away.

Activities to enjoy in the area

If you enjoy outdoor activities, Bréhan and its surrounding area really is the place to be. Whether your pleasures are walking, horse-riding, swimming, fishing or cycling, this area is just perfect. There are a couple of golf courses close to the town as well, and no less than three swimming pools in the neighbouring town of Reguiny. The Lac au Duc, at Ploermel, is another great place to enjoy fishing and water sports.

Explore the beaches, mediaeval towns and standing stones

A drive of just over an hour will take you to the glorious beaches of the Gulf of Morbihan. From here you can also take boat trips to the islands that lie just off the south coast of Brittany. The mediaeval town of Josselin, packed with heritage and things to do, is closer to home but definitely worth taking a day to enjoy. Then there's the departmental capital of Vannes and the standing stones at Carnac, so whoever you are, you'll find something you want to see in Morbihan.
