The name of Bourgueil is world famous for its place as an "AOC" (appellation d'origine contrôlée) which is a mark of quality for the superb red wine produced here. Bourgueil is also an attractive and prosperous town whose standard of living is considered one of the best in the country.
The town supplies everything you could wish for in a small town, with a selection of the usual shops such as butchers, bakers, patisseries, newsagents, cafés, bars and supermarkets. There are even five restaurants for those "treat yourself" times. And you can bet your boots that the wine list will include a bottle or two of Bourgueil!
Well, maybe not in the air, but certainly there are castles around the area! Bourgueil has the Châteaux of Reaux and Gizeux, and any drive through this part of France will turn up many more of these fabulous historical castles, many of which are open to the public for viewing.

Visit the great city of Tours, or head south to Poitiers to the theme park of Futuroscope or the Valley of the Monkeys, where you can see hundreds of monkeys of all shapes and sizes swinging through the trees and living more or less as nature intended.
Most people these days like to keep fit, even if their chosen activity is simply walking.
