Property Details:

The property is an outlying building originally belonging to the Chateau de La Rochebeaucourt; an historic chateau first built in the 16th Century by the Family de Villebois and later knocked down and rebuilt between 1853 and 1859 under the authority of Napoleon III, the then emperor of France. The Chateau and its outbuildings were requisitioned by the Germans during the second World war, and the original chateau was burnt to the ground on 5th February 1941.
It is believed that originally this property was a stable block which also housed a garrison of officers during the late 19th Century and has had many reincarnations before the current owners bought it in 2004, including private dwelling and a school.

In 1999, a large portion of the roof was destroyed by nearby trees and very strong winds. In 2004 the complete roof was replaced along with making good the existing damage. There is a small pavilion attached behind the right wing of the building, creating a one bedroomed caretakerís cottage with kitchen and bathroom and with access to the main building, which the caretaker currently uses.
The property was completely gutted on both levels, dismantling the majority of dormitories and then initial building works were started in the right hand wing. There are also two very large barns, either side of the property. One is losing its roof at the moment but the other one is very sound.
Photos are not enough, you have to see this in real life to appreciate the potential that is on offer here. It is not for the faint at heart, it is for anyone who has the means, determination, budget and imagination to take this Domaine to the next level.
This would make a great hotel, wedding venue, set of high class apartments and so much more. If you think that is you then call us now and come and see this!
