About the house
The main house is located at the top of a long, tree-lined driveway, accessed from the quiet, country lane via lockable double-gates.
The front door, with fly-screen, leads straight into an open-plan, fully-fitted kitchen and dining room with a tiled floor and a conservatory feel. Furnished with a wood-burning stove and central heating radiator, this room remains cosy at any time of the year. During the summer, all the windows slide fully open, giving an outside/inside option for this lovely room.
Leading off the dining room, a wooden internal door opens onto a spacious hallway, with rear door to the side of the house, storage cupboard and an enclosed, handy downstairs toilet with hand wash basin.
From this hallway, a part glass-panelled door leads to the large family lounge with a second wood-burning stove and double, French patio doors, giving access to a fenced, spacious, block-paved patio area for eating outdoors with a full view of the lake and island (currently home to a flock of geese and ducks). The patio area also offers access to the land and lakeside via a gate and to the guest accommodation.
From the lounge room, there is another spacious hallway, currently used as an office space at the bottom of the stairs. A ground-floor bedroom is located here, in addition to an ensuite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, toilet and hand wash basin.
At the top of the stairs, off the landing, you will find a further three bedrooms and a shower room with toilet and hand wash basin. The main bedroom has access via double French doors to a magnificent balcony offering full views over the lake and surrounding land.
