If you have been looking to buy an established carp fishing business in France, then look no further. Les Burons operates as a successful carp fishery between April and October, currently enjoying a remarkable 75% in repeat business. Established since 2004 by the current owners, Les Burons Carp Fishery is firmly on the map as one of northern France’s finest fishing venues, and books well in advance, with weeks currently taken for this season.
Additional accommodation for guests/granny flat is sited in an extension to the side of the house completed in 2019. With one bedroom, mezzanine storage, modern shower room/wetroom and an open plan sitting area with kitchen, the extension is fully self-contained with entry from the patio area.
The business has an established, regularly-maintained website with a valuable domain name and other associated business domain names that redirect to it, and a busy Facebook page with 948 likes (and growing).

The 5-acre lake is seated within 9 acres of private, gated and fenced land, mostly landscaped with the lake and stock pond as the jewels in the crown. Stocked with approximately 180 healthy fish, including mirror, common and grass carp up to 50lbs, the well-maintained lake is a serious investment for those wishing to look ahead to many years of successful business. Currently, the stock pond contains 20-30 carp fish up to 18lbs. Several fisherman’s cabins with connected electricity and WiFi are sited around the shores of the lake.
Les Burons is situated in rolling, open countryside, offering beautiful views from almost every window of the house, and every spot around the lake. The peaceful environment is tranquil and relaxing, yet within easy reach of the local shops and amenities, including a village bar within strolling distance.
Although Les Burons is well set-up for business, the owners have also made it their home for 17 years, living on site in a pretty, spacious and modern swiss-chalet style house located at the end of a long drive enclosed by private gates and lined with established trees.
About the house
The main house is located at the top of a long, tree-lined driveway, accessed from the quiet, country lane via lockable double-gates.
The front door, with fly-screen, leads straight into an open-plan, fully-fitted kitchen and dining room with a tiled floor and a conservatory feel. Furnished with a wood-burning stove and central heating radiator, this room remains cosy at any time of the year. During the summer, all the windows slide fully open, giving an outside/inside option for this lovely room.
Leading off the dining room, a wooden internal door opens onto a spacious hallway, with rear door to the side of the house, storage cupboard and an enclosed, handy downstairs toilet with hand wash basin.
From this hallway, a part glass-panelled door leads to the large family lounge with a second wood-burning stove and double, French patio doors, giving access to a fenced, spacious, block-paved patio area for eating outdoors with a full view of the lake and island (currently home to a flock of geese and ducks). The patio area also offers access to the land and lakeside via a gate and to the guest accommodation.
From the lounge room, there is another spacious hallway, currently used as an office space at the bottom of the stairs. A ground-floor bedroom is located here, in addition to an ensuite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, toilet and hand wash basin.
At the top of the stairs, off the landing, you will find a further three bedrooms and a shower room with toilet and hand wash basin. The main bedroom has access via double French doors to a magnificent balcony offering full views over the lake and surrounding land.
Currently, the owners use four of the five possible bedrooms. Bedroom five is located on the first floor, and is accessed via bedroom four. This is a smaller room with great potential to become an office or an ensuite shower room/dressing room for bedroom four.
The property is well-maintained throughout, is connected to mains electricity, and has a modern, up-to-date septic tank for drainage. To the rear of the property is piped gas. Outside the property, you will find a double garage, currently used for storage of machinery and fishing equipment, and parking for up to six family cars.
The current owners are ready to retire and to hand over their dream to the new owners, who will ideally be enthusiastic ‘fishing people’ with plenty of energy and a desire to continue and build upon this beautiful, successful carp fishery.
