For buying and selling property in Eymoutiers
Eymoutiers, a small but lively town situated in the green heart of France, the Limousin, manages to remain true to its rural French roots whilst also maintaining a vibrant atmosphere and a good selection of modern amenities.
Eymoutiers is notable for certain very pretty features, and perhaps the most immediately apparent of these is the River Vienne, that runs through the centre of town and which carries with it a number of picturesque waterfalls. The countryside all around the town is stunningly beautiful, lush and fertile, and this, coupled with the ancient, mellow stone buildings that make up the town, means that Eymoutiers is indeed, one of France's hidden gems.
All necessities are supplied within the town itself, but if you should feel the need for a big city experience you will only have to travel a short distance to reach Limoges, capital of the region. Eymoutiers has shops, a supermarket and a choice of good eateries, though, so it's unlikely you will need to make the trip to the city too often!
Eymoutiers offers lots of activities, and a great way to begin is to take the special steam train from Eymoutiers station and discover the town and its history and surroundings in this fun and novel manner! Of course, if this isn't active enough for you, there are plenty of sporting activities on offer too, including tennis, petanque, horse-riding, cycling and walking. On top of this there is easy access to a golf course, and you can go to watch the exciting horse racing at Pompadour for a great day out. There are a host of interesting places to visit locally too, so access to a car is a great idea if you really want to get to know the best of the wonderful Limousin region.
You can fly to Limoges with Ryanair and flybe, and there is a new airport due to open at Brive la Gaillard which could also prove useful. The TGV goes to nearby Angoulême, and Eymoutiers has its own station for local rail services.
Eymoutiers lies in a region which still offers the potential for making a great investment in property. Not only are prices in this region still very reasonable, especially when compared with UK property, but Eymoutiers and indeed, much of the Haute-Vienne department have a wealth of rural properties needing varying degrees of renovation, something which is becoming as rare as hen's teeth in many more familiar areas of France.
