For buying and selling property in Léguevin
The town of Léguevin, which is located in the sunny south-west of France, not far from Toulouse, is an attractive and thriving bastide town, which can trace its antecedents back to prehistoric times. Today, the town is a blend of old and new, with the traditional buildings happily co-existing with a busy modern community. The pretty countryside in which it lies creates a peaceful and rural environment, and adds to Léguevin's charms, a sense of history and tradition.
Léguevin can provide everything you need for a comfortable modern lifestyle. There are excellent shopping facilities, with all the "usual suspects"'... a boulangerie, a boucherie, a tabac, a presse... the list goes on, but suffice to say that you won't be disappointed! Léguevin also has a very interesting church complete with a very impressive bell wall. (This is typical to this part of France: instead of a bell tower there is a rather pretty bell wall.) The town has several traditional buildings worth seeing, and also boasts a beautiful chateau, the Château de Castelnouvel.
Léguevin has a regular Sunday morning market held in the attractive central square, so if you are an aficionado of the French market experience, this is one you won't want to miss. You can purchase just about everything from the very freshest of local produce to a new party dress for that special occasion. And talking of special occasions, the town also has a sprinkling of very good restaurants for those times when you have something to celebrate... or you just want to treat yourself!
There are plenty of opportunities to get active in and close to Léguevin. The town has a municipal swimming pool (one word of advice here... if you are new to municipal pools in France, make sure that the men in your party take proper swimming trunks rather than shorts... or they won't be allowed in!) and a selection of sporting clubs to join. The surrounding countryside affords further possibilities, such as walking, horse-riding, golf, fishing and many more.
It is really simple to get to Léguevin from the UK, as the town is situated not far from Toulouse with its international airport. You can fly with British Airways, bmi, bmibaby, flybe and easyJet... so what are you waiting for! Those who like to travel by rail will also be happy as there is a station at Toulouse where you can alight from the fast TGV, and it is then easy to catch a local train to reach your destination.
If you are looking for property in this part of south-west France and hope to be near to Toulouse, Léguevin could be a good place to begin the search. Less expensive than the big city itself, Léguevin nevertheless has many of the benefits enjoyed by Toulouse, with its superb climate, beautiful landscapes and tasty gastronomy.
