For buying and selling property in Beauvoir sur Niort
The town of Beauvoir sur Niort is a friendly little town which is found in the Deux-Sèvres department in Poitou-Charentes, in the west of France. It offers all the amenities you could hope for, whilst sitting in a superb location close to both the historic and bustling city of Niort, and also, perhaps surprisingly, to La Rochelle, the popular resort on the Atlantic coast.
Beauvoir sur Niort is a lively town where it is easy to enjoy a thoroughly modern lifestyle with all home comforts, yet still have all the benefits and atmosphere of a small French community. The town offers shopping, with supermarkets as well as local shops such as excellent boulangeries and other French essentials, but should you feel the need for a big city shopping trip, there is always the lovely city of Niort right on the doorstep, only a short drive away.
One of the surprising things about this little town is that although it lies inland, and hence property is much lower priced than that at the coast, it is actually only around 40 minutes drive from the coast, so expect to find menus laden with superb fresh seafood as well as the local produce of duck and goats' cheese.
The Sèvre River runs from Niort to the Atlantic at La Rochelle, and this popular resort is within very easy reach for day trips. The town of Niort itself is worth exploring, as are many of the beautiful old towns and villages in the region, such as Fontenay le Comte or Celles sur Belle. Poitiers, with its great theme park Futuroscope is not far away either, and the lovely Deux-Sèvres countryside offers many sporting activities for you to enjoy. There is walking, cycling, horse-riding, tennis, fishing, petanque and many, many more ways to get active and enjoy your leisure time.
The airports of Tours and Poitiers are both close and easily accessed from the town. Both are served by Ryanair, the budget airline, so getting to your destination won't cost you an arm and a leg. The TGV also runs to Poitiers and Tours, from where you can link to a local service or hire a car. If you would prefer to take your own car and go by ferry, the ferry port of St Malo is around a four-hour drive from the region, with Caen and Cherbourg at about five hours distance. The town lies just off the A10 auto route making it well located for those who like to drive to their French destination. Or you could travel by coach all the way to Tours from London. It takes a while, but it is a very easy and stress free mode of travel!
If you are seeking a property on a budget, this is a great area in which to look. The Deux-Sèvres still offers many bargains and although it may not be the best known French department, it is extremely beautiful and well located. Property currently on the market includes renovation projects from as little as 21,500 Euros, and a four bedroom town house at under 75,000 Euros... now where else in France can you find bargains such as these?
